Lee was there...
A rousing response to my project idea at the CFY meeting.
Lee is on the CFY staff, for those of you who don't know, so he was at the meeting also. So, logically, it was a good time to discuss my Senior Project a bit.
We discussed plans for further work on my Naval Duels game, though, knowing Lee, he'd like to see actual code. Still, some suggestions and things to keep in mind.
I'm going to organize the Naval Duels program well - clearly delinated logic code, and interface code, as per standard operating procedure. Also as per s.o.p, the basics will be coded and tested first, with additional "cool" features to be tested one-by-one. The basic game is an idea I've had for a while, so that's more a matter of coding than of game design.
But additional features, including "Admiral" characters to customise the ship stats used by each player, will involve game-design work as well as coding work. Some feature ideas may just have not come to me yet. Plus, Lee suggested eventualyl expanding from 2-player (basic game) to 3-or-4 player, and perhaps networking it. :)
But, I'm going to put several thigns into a Python "class" to make them easier to manipulate, giving me a wider range of options as well. (I think)
