-What I thought before the school year-
Why am I choosing this project? It’s obvious that I’ve always had a tremendous interest in computers, and anything having to do with them. I’ve dabbled in website work (admittedly, http://www.geocities.com/alangilfoy hasn’t received any major updates lately…) All I’ve done for that is rudimentary CSS and Javascript. I’ve considered going farther into those, and doing some other “real” languages.
But I didn’t really have the impetus to actually do something until Senior Project time rolled around. I figured that not only the advice I’d take in as part of the project, but the time pressure that comes from school deadlines, would actually lead me to do something, and get something out of it.
Nick Clark, the school computer lab person here at SWW three years ago, came to mind. He got me started on this road, with web design stuff, in his Digital Design class. So I considered him as one of the community members. He obliged. Excellent, as I’ve heard from previous seniors that finding community members is one of the most difficult steps early in the process.
